York College Aerial Project

Miller Hull Internship

Date: Summer 2021

During my internship at Miller Hull I assisted with the pro-bono York College Foundation project. The Chehalis, Washington project site presented a unique challenge: due to recent landscape alterations, satellite images of the property were out-of-date. With my previous drone photography experience, I jumped on the idea of capturing updated photos of the site. As I worked, it was made known to me that due to drone altitude restrictions and the vast size of the property, I could not photograph the entire property in one image. Hence, I developed a solution to divide the property into more manageable sections. During the site visit, I captured over 250 aerial frames and 10 minutes of aerial video. Afterwards, I used Photoshop to stitch all the bird’s-eye view photos into a complete aerial image of the entire property which later served as a critical visual for architectural site planning. I also created a brochure concept utilizing the graphics our team had created.
